Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

empowerHIM Counseling & Solutions ("empowerHIM," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: Your name, email address, and password (stored securely and never in plain text) when you register.

Learning data: Your program enrollments, module progress, worksheet responses, journal entries, and certificates of completion.

Voice journal data: When you use the Voice Journal feature, we process your audio recording to generate a written transcript and reflective feedback. Audio is processed for transcription and then handled according to our retention practices below.

Community data: Posts and comments you submit to the community feed, and your cohort memberships.

Contact submissions: Information you provide through the contact form (name, email, message).

Payment information: Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number — Stripe handles all payment data securely. We retain a record of your enrollment or subscription status for account management.

Usage and analytics data: We track anonymized or pseudonymous analytics events (such as program enrollments, subscriptions, and module completions) to understand how the platform is used and improve it.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically when you use the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain your account and learning experience
  • Track your progress through programs and issue certificates
  • Generate transcripts and reflective feedback for voice journals
  • Display your contributions in the community feed and cohort member lists
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send you service-related emails (enrollment confirmations, reminders)
  • Respond to your contact submissions
  • Analyze usage to improve our programs and platform
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following categories of service providers:

  • Base44 — our platform hosting and database provider, which stores your account and learning data. Base44's vendors are bound by data processing agreements; you can review Base44's Data Processing Agreement and Terms of Service for details on how they handle data
  • Stripe — our payment processor, which handles all card and transaction data
  • AI service providers — used to transcribe voice journals and generate reflective feedback; these providers receive only the content you submit for processing and are bound by their own privacy and data-use commitments
  • Email delivery providers — to send transactional emails on our behalf

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of empowerHIM, our users, or others.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure managed by Base44. We use authentication, row-level access controls, and encrypted connections (HTTPS) to protect your information. Each user's journal entries, worksheet responses, and voice journal data are restricted so that only you and authorized administrators can access them. Despite these measures, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (such as payment records). Community posts and comments may be retained even after account deletion, as they are part of the shared community experience.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal exceptions)
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Opt-out of sale: We do not sell your data, but you may opt out of any future sale
  • Limit sensitive data use: Request limits on how we use sensitive personal information (where applicable)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10 below. We will respond within the timeframe required by your state's law.
